Pool Resurfacing and Replaster

Pool Resurfacing and Replaster in Gilbert

When the shell is still sound but the interior finish has worn out, resurfacing is the smart, lower-cost fix. Razvanboar chips out the old white plaster, repairs the substrate, and applies a fresh quartz aggregate or pebble finish that restores the pool for a fraction of a rebuild. We replace the waterline tile and coping in the same pass and bring the drain covers up to the current ANSI/PHTA/ICC-7 anti-entrapment standard.

Why Resurface Instead of Rebuild

Standard white plaster typically lasts 5 to 10 years in the Arizona sun before it turns rough, chalky, or stained. That wear is a finish problem, not a structural one. If the gunite shell underneath is solid, there is no reason to spend on a teardown. A pebble finish commonly holds 15 to 25 years, so a single resurface can outlast several plaster jobs and often pays back the difference in longevity alone.

Our Process

We drain the pool, chip the failed plaster back to a clean bond, and address any hairline crazing or exposed aggregate. We prep the surface, then trowel on your chosen quartz or pebble finish and set new waterline tile. After a proper cure we refill, balance the water, and brush the finish in during startup so it sets evenly. Most resurfacing projects wrap in one to three weeks depending on the tile and coping scope.
